The Gift of Wine Accessories

Over the last few years, interest in wine has grown in American society. What used to be a hobby enjoyed by the extremely well-off is now found in every walk of American life. Middle class people are taking trips to Napa and touring wineries. Costco Wholesale and Sam’s Club even have quality wine for sale in their warehouse shopping centers. Knowledge of wine and interest in wine in such a wide variety of people has made it easier to find gifts for weddings and holidays.
One simple gift for a couple is personalized wine glasses. These can be given for a wedding, an anniversary, a holiday, or an engagement present. Wine glasses can be personalized with etchings on the class itself or on the base. You can add the couple’s names, the date of the event, a personal message, or anything else you want them to remember when they look at the glasses. The glasses are functional, and can be used for everyday wine drinking, or they can be put on display for everybody to see your thoughtful gift.
Another easy gift is a set of decorative wine charms. Wine charms are small icons hanging from a metal ring that can be fastened to the stem of a wine glass. Wine charms are used to identify a person’s glass so they can put it down without fear of worrying about picking up somebody else’s glass. Wine charms can be bought in many different themed sets, such the same shape with different colors, holiday icons, wine accessory icons, different colored gemstones, and even animals. Wine charms are inexpensive, and can reflect the personality of the person you are giving them to as a gift.
Corkscrews always make a great gift for the wine enthusiast. Every bottle of wine (with the exception of wine that wine enthusiasts likely won’t be interested in) comes with a cork and requires a corkscrew to open. When most people purchase a corkscrew for their home, they go with a simple hand-held unit that requires manual cranking. For a few dollars more, you can give as a gift a corkscrew that takes less effort to operate, or one that is personalized. A good corkscrew can make wine drinking more pleasant, and can even be a good conversation piece.
For a friend who likes art as well as wine, paintings and posters with a wine theme are available. Paintings of wine glasses, wine bottles, or a vineyard can add taste and class to a room. People often have particular tastes, so you will want to make sure that you take that into account before purchasing a work of art for somebody else’s home.
People who drink wine and are interested in the subject of wine usually enjoy wine-related gifts. A present that says “I care about your interests” can really make somebody feel special. Many types of wine drinking accessories and decorations are available for you to find that perfect gift.
That Drink is The Bomb!

- Personalized Pint Glasses

- Personalized Glass
If you have been out to a bar or a night club recently surely you have noticed the increasingly popularity of shooter bomb style drinks. There are a growing number of bomb style drinks that are usually made by dropping a shooter of liquor or liqueur into a pint or larger glass of some other type of drink like a beer or an energy drink. Some popular bomb style drinks are the Irish Car Bomb, Sake Bomb, Jäger Bomb, and the Vegas Bomb. If you would like to try some of these creations, here are the secrets to these popular favorites.
The Irish Car Bomb was created in 1977 at Wilson’s Saloon in Norwich, Ct. It is made by taking a shot glass with whiskey and Irish cream. The whiskey is floated on top of the Irish Cream in the shot glass, and the shot glass is dropped into a half-full glass of Guinness. As with all bomb style drinks, the Irish Car Bomb should be chugged down quickly. You can even purchase speciality glass sets with the recipe etched directly on the glass so you will always have the perfect Irish Car Bomb to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
The Sake Bomb is said to have been invented in 2002 at Sushi Rock Sobe in trendy South Beach Miama, Florida. The drink is made by dropping a shot glass of warm sake into a glass of beer and consumed immediately. Sometimes, to add some flair, drinkers will take two chopsticks and place them parallel on top of the beer glass while balancing the shot glass on the chopsticks. The drinker then chants “sake… sake… sake… BOMB!” or they count to three in Japanese, “ichi, ni, san, SAKE BOMB” and slams their fists on either side of the glass thus causing the shot class to drop into the glass of beer. Watch out for the chopsticks and drink immediately. The Sake Bomb has no roots in Japan; that is a common misconception.
The Jäger Bomb (or the jägerbomb) is a mixture of a shot of Jägermeister and Red Bull Energy Drink. Like the other bomb style drinks, the shot glass of Jäger is dropped into a glass of Red Bull then consumed immediately. The Jäger Bomb is a somewhat controversial drink. The stimulating effect of the Energy Effect mixed with alcohol, a known depressant, is sometimes said to make drinkers feel less intoxicated than they actually are and cause binge drinking or harmful behavior like drunk driving.
The Vegas Bomb is another concoction made with Red Bull Energy Drink. For the Vegas Bomb you take a glass of Red Bull and top it off with a splash of cranberry juice. The shot that is dropped into the Vegas Bomb is a mixture of Crown Royal Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, and Malibu Coconut Rum. As with the others, drop the shot into the glass and chug away.
Bomb drinks are becoming quite popular in bars everywhere; perhaps they are even becoming as popular as their predecessor, the shooter. Weather it is a Sake Bomb or a Vegas Bomb that suits your fancy, please remember to drink your bomb responsibly and always have a designated driver when you are out on the town.
